Where The Green Grass Grows

This morning started out with a 35 minute walk with my friend Kayla from Minnesota. She walked in Minnesota, I walked in Alberta! We sent texts back and forth to each other. Honestly, what better motivation? Someone to walk with, whether you're walking with them physically or not, it's still someone to walk with, and it went very well! I just need to get a good playlist together and I'll be set. I think tomorrow I'll do a 30 minute bike ride. Not really sure where to just yet, I'll decide that tomorrow.

To follow my walk this morning, I mowed the lawn and then proceeded to weed whack and trip all the "weeds" and grass I can't get with the mower. It was still a bit damp, but all in all, in the morning is the best way to go because it's cool out. It's only +9, so it really is the greatest time, you can work up a sweat still but nothing compared to when it's +15 or more!

The rest of my day will be sent catching up with Kayla via Xbox. We can play games and still talk! Bonus!! I'll also do a bit of tidying and such like that. I'm considering detailing my vehicle but I don't know that I'll feel like doing it.

I'm feeling great today, had a good night sleep, although it was short (6hrs), I woke up straight away and am still up, not exhausted or tired despite all of the exercise I've had so far today. I've been playing a lot of Scrabble and Song Pop Quiz.

Hope everyone is having a great Wednesday!

Dayum, Baby

Things over here have been incredibly uneventful. We've had crappy weather, lows of +2, highs of +18. BOO! Not to mention if it's not sunny, it's storming and raining. We've been doing a bit of yard work, and yet again, more weed control. Thistles just keep coming up everywhere. On the plus side, the yard is looking really great, minus the deck (it needs a new paint job), the lawn is nice, we're working on the dog pen - making the posts more stable and fixing the chain link - mostly making it more presentable :)

Only one month until Wade and I hit the road for our big trip to Idaho. We've been saving like crazy, so we have some spending money for down there. I cannot wait, and I don't think Wade can either. We're going to do all kinds of stuff, shopping, amusement parks, the beach (assuming it will be nice), dinners out, a day trip to Spokane maybe, depending on how Coeur D'Alene is for shopping. It's going to be great. I've got a very nice tan going on, so I can't wait to get a little darker - assuming our weather smartens up soon. And I can't wait to lay on the beautiful beach where we're going.

On another note, my brother had strep throat last week, and didn't go in to the doctor, so I caught it. Or only a bit of it I guess. Once I felt a sore throat coming on, I was drinking 1-2 green teas, along with my Ganoderma Spore powder, vitamin C/D, and probiotics. In the green tea I'd put a bit of fresh squeezed lemon juice, and some honey, with a little cold water so I could drink it right away. Let me tell you! The tea helped sooth my throat incredibly, and I think that the combination of what I take on a daily basis and the tea really helped the sore throat from developing into strep throat. I've been feeling great, my throat is only sore in the morning - as I have been sleeping with my mouth open so it gets dry.

I'm finding it hard to believe that it's the middle of summer, yet we're having autumn weather. I'm hoping it will take off sometime soon, and return our hot summer weather back to us. I would almost rather be back in BC right now, they're getting +30 weather, makes me really jealous. I'd love to be back floating on the lake, enjoying the sunshine and the quiet surroundings.

When I'm Gone

I realize it's been about two weeks since I've written a post. I last wrote about my mom. I haven't written because well, I was helping my mom, and then we left internet and cell service for 8 days :)

Leaving cell service and such for 8 days was completely glorious. We got to go floating on the most beautiful lake around BC, swimming, tanning, huckleberry picking, and it was quiet. There was hardly anyone up at the lake, it was incredibly quiet, and very enjoyable. The weather was amazing, we hardly had any rain, we had some wind, but nothing extreme. We went kayaking, boating, and visited with a bit of family too.

We attended a close friends wedding this past weekend. It was incredible, I was so excited to see my friend get married! My first "friends" wedding that I've been to, any others I've been to have been when I was younger and it was all family weddings. It was outside, and it was sunny and nice. She looked stunning, and he looked handsome, just the way every bride and groom should look. I was honoured to be a part of their special day and make sure everything was set in place for the reception and dance. It was great, everything turned out!

I can honestly say that I am seriously missing the gorgeous weather that was in BC. We've had severe thunderstorm watches and warnings since we got back to Alberta. It's sunny here now, but who knows for how long, as there's severe thunderstorm watches on now :( The weather is ridiculously moody lately, it's completely annoying. On the plus side, all the rain and a bit of sun has made my garden massive! It's 3 times the size it was when I left for BC two weeks ago. My flowers are blooming well too! They're huge.

While camping, you don't eat properly, well you might, but not as well as you do when you're at home. I tried to remember to take my Ganoderma Spore Powder capsules every day, but when I missed a day or two, my stomach was completely fine. I have really never felt more "normal", stomach wise. It's been a long time since I didn't have to worry about where a bathroom was, or what foods I could and couldn't have. I had pepperoni while we were camping, that's usually an avoid, well my stomach tolerated it well. Things are looking up for my stomach and my life with Crohn's Disease. It's all changing, and I hope it continues changing and I can go to eating more and more foods.

I also want to put a Happy Birthday out there to my Minnesota friend!

Happy 21st Birthday Kayla!!

1980

Things have been busy in life lately. I came out to BC a week sooner than planned/expected. My mom took a fall down a 14 step flight of stairs and broke her dominant wrist pretty bad. She broke the joint, and needed to have surgery to secure the bones with pins and plates.

The pups and I made the drive out yesterday. It turned out to be a 8.5 hour drive, with the ferry waits and such, usually it's only about 7 hours, if traffic isn't too bad. The dogs were great, only stopped a few times to let them out, the rest of the time they slept. It was great. I was tired though, so it made the drive seem even longer than it was.

There's a lot of people that have been helping my mom out. A friend drove her home from Vernon, where she was staying at my cousins house. My aunt made her a little "care package", waterless shampoo, candy, magazines and such, stuff to keep her entertained. A few people want to come up and visit but she's still pretty tired and with being on pain killers she's a little out of it. I imagine in the next day or two people will be able to start visiting.

I miss Wade. Plain and simple. We haven't really spent much time apart, and I know the dogs miss him too. Dacia is a big suck, always has to be where I am, even in the bathroom!! Wade's taking the bus out on Saturday, and my dad and I will go and pick him up, then we'll start our week of camping and my friend's wedding! I can't wait to see her walk down the aisle and marry her best friend. We have inflatable kayaks, and a floatie for my mom so we can tow her around! No cell service, no internet, just conversations, swimming, kayaking and having fun. I cannot wait. I've not been sleeping well the last few nights due to stress, hopefully that will get better. I'm sure it will.

Just looked at the weather, it's supposed to rain a bit the next few days, and then get as hot as 40!!!! I honestly cannot wait for that, it's going to be hot, but so much fun, and so nice. I guess I should get outside and get my vehicle organized and ready to go to the beach with my sister Morgann, and throw the frisbee for the dog and such. We'll be heading to the lake tomorrow to get my mom's camper ready and such.

Hope everyone is having a great beginning to July!!

Party Like Cowboyz

As I lay in bed last night, watching the flashes of lightning, listening to the thunder and pounding rain. Every bit about it is soothing to no end. I don't know what it is about thunderstorms that is soothing, especially the ones we've been having lately.

We had a somewhat eventful weekend and week leading up to another eventful weekend. We went camping up in Northern Alberta with some of Wade's family. It was good, Dacia was incredibly behaved until some wind in the storm we had started blowing the tarp around, then she was freaking out. Needless to say, we sat in our tent during the storm with the dogs, they did well, they didn't act scared while we were there.

We came home to find our truck had been broken in to :( :( big downer. So, on Wednesday, I sat in the shop for 2 hours getting the window fixed. Boo! But what do you do? People are dumb and find any need possible to break into someone's vehicle or home, it's beyond ridiculous.

We also had a company BBQ on Wednesday night. Wade got a really nice gift! I'm super stoked about it!

We've got the Benalto Pro Rodeo in town this weekend, we'll be in attendance. This will be our first year, it should be good, I'm excited to see what it's like and how booming this small town can get :) Yay! We cannot wait!! YAY!!

We also got our new fridge today too! That's super exciting, ours leaks all over :( Major pain in the butt! I'm in love with the new fridge, it's great.

On another note, I haven't taken Ganoderma in the last two days to see how my stomach does off of it, and I'm doing GREAT!! Obviously besides being sick.
