Facebook Friends

Have you ever had that feeling that your friends could be your biggest let down yet? I have a few "friends" that fall into this category. The ones that are only there when its convenient for them, when they need someone to talk to or need advice. You know the kind of friends I'm talking about? They're the constantly disappointing friends, the ones who meet respond to you, even when they're clearly online, or have "seen" your messages. They're annoying, and when it boils down to it, are they worth keeping as a friend? Are they worth the hassle of knowing they've seen a message and are obviously ignoring it?

I'm finding now that the best friends one can have, is their husband and a bunch of random ladies on Facebook who are all in a secret group with you. They turn out to be better friends then people you've grown up with, people you've known your entire life, and that you know almost everything about them and they know almost everything about you. Those friends suck, 9 out of 10 times!

My posts are going to be few or nothing for the next two or so weeks as we leave on vacation on Saturday! We won't be back until September 9th! There will be pictures and some stories to follow!

Have a good few weeks all!!

30 Things - Dream Job

What Is Your Dream Job, And Why?

Click here to the original post.

I love music. Country music is my favourite. I think it would be amazing to be on the set of music videos, and back stage making sure things are where they should be for concerts. That to me screams loads of excitement, and something that I could never get tired of. I would love all of it! Not to mention the autographed items I'd get!!

Not to mention the fact that I love planning. Anything involving music would be the best job for me. There is music on in my house every second that there isn't tv or a movie on. There is always music on in my vehicle, when I'm walking, biking, lawn mowing, doing yard work, cooking, it's always there.

I would love to help plan a big festival or something near Red Deer, it'd be an amazing opportunity, and incredible experience, not to mention the satisfaction of being involved in an event like that.

30 Things - Hardest Thing

#6 - What Is The Hardest Thing You Have Ever Experienced?

Click here to link to the original post.

Sitting here thinking about what I consider to be the hardest thing that has ever happened to me, it draws me to June/July 2009. I was in nursing school, at practical exam time, my Granny had fallen very ill and was in the hospital, an hour away. I wanted to go and see her, and had to wait until after I finished my practical exam. My exam was approximately 30 minutes long, by the time I got out of it, I was on my way to the car, listening to my voicemails. I had one from my dad, and called him back immediately. He then told me that my Granny had passed away while I was in my exam, I went into shock and started crying my eyes out in the parking lot.

Two weeks later, I was back home visiting my parents and my mom and I went in to Vernon to visit my Nana. We took her out to the park by the beach for a lunch date. I wheeled her down there in her chair and my mom packed the food. She had a great day, we all did. It was great to see Nana that happy, and enjoying herself that much. Not much after that, July 24th, became another heartache of a day. I was at work, my phone kept buzzing, I couldn't answer it because I had a huge line up of customers. I called my mom back when I got home from work, and she told me that my Nana had passed. It kind of blind sided me because the last time I had seen her, she was doing quite well. I locked myself in the bathroom for an hour, crying.

Both of these lovely, amazing, caring ladies were my great grandmothers. So, not only did I lose both of my great grandmas within 6 weeks of each other, I was in a long term relationship at the time, and had to attend both funerals alone. Who lets their girlfriend of almost 6 years attend two funerals alone, when you know those two ladies were so important to her?? That's what makes this the hardest thing I have ever experienced.

30 Things - Happy Thoughts

#5 - What Are The 5 Things That Make You Most Happy Right Now?

Click here to link to the original post.

1. The number one thing that makes me happy right now is Wade. He's amazing, so understanding, supportive, and he loves me unconditionally, no matter what. We go through a lot on a daily basis, but nothing seems to change between us. Our relationship is stronger than ever.

2. Our trip to Idaho, the planning part is making me extremely excited. We've found a few places that we have been told are must see's and restaurants that we need to visit! I'm getting more and more excited about the trip, it's only 17 days away and we embark on our road trip! No cell phone service!
3. My friends. I only have a few close friends, but let me tell you, they are certainly the most amazing friends around.

4. My god daughter. I've never loved a little girl as much as I love my god daughter. She's adorable, and she's growing up so fast. I wish I could see her more and see more of the milestones she's reaching in life. She's a year and a half old already, and seeing pictures of her all the time, make me miss her more and more with each passing day. I'm blessed to have a god daughter.

5. Sunshine. We don't see much of it anymore, it's been mostly overcast or raining for what seems like the last 3 months - I know this is a tad bit dramatic - but sunshine makes everything better.

30 Things - 16 Year Old Self

#4 - List 10 Things You Would Tell Your 16 Year-Old Self, If You Could:

Click here to be taken to the original post.

1. You shouldn't wear sweatpants to school, they're an at home casual wear.

2. I would tell my 16 year old self that I need to hang out more with my friends, and not just constantly my high school sweetheart, because now that I'm graduated, married (not to my high school
sweetheart), and moved on, I don't have many friends from high school.

3. Study more for classes

4. Make the time for those friends that do matter to you.

5. Spend more time deciding what you want to do in life, rather than going to college 3 times, and earning two different degrees, to be doing neither!

6. Write more journals, keep track of good memories, and bad memories.

7. Don't let your teachers discourage you, keep pushing at sports and school classes. Teachers are there to teach, not belittle.

8. You've gone through a lot in life, make sure you take time to enjoy it before high school is over.

9. Keep seeing the school guidance counsellor, she'll help you more than you think she will. There's a lot of stuff they're knowledgeable about that you have no idea about. She'll help you more in your future too when you need her.

10. Act your age, have fun. Don't be too mature for your age, or with time, everything will slip away, and you'll be an adult.

Annie I Owe You A Dance

Not much is happening here. I'm drinking my coffee/teas, and taking my capsules, and I'm feeling great! I've truly never felt better! I've started the Green Coffee Bean Extract diet today. I'm keeping up with all of my other capsules and stuff as well. Ganoderma, vitamin C, prenatal, and a probiotic just to help keep things normal! I'll keep you all updated on my progress with the Green Coffee Bean!

Last week, I made a candlelit dinner for Wade. We had homemade Chicken Cordon Bleu, rice, and caesar salad with home grown lettuce. Yum yum! It was great, we had the house to ourselves, locked the dogs up, put the candles out, had the table all set nicely, table cloth and all. It was really great. We had music on in the background, had a little bit of a slow dance after dinner.

This week, Thursday - Sunday, my cousin was here. We made Strawberry Rhubarb pie, a steak chef's pie, and sushi. We did well, we also went shopping, to the farmers market, and of course laser tagging! That was the high light of the weekend. It was really good and it was a ton of fun! It was a great visit, the weather held up, no rain, nice hot days!

Really not much has happened in the last week or two, we've been slowly planning our trip to Idaho, and marking out things to see, places to go, and everything! We're getting very excited, it's going to be great! Probably going on a little dinner cruise, it's also a site seeing cruise, so that is going to be absolutely amazing :) I cannot wait to celebrate our first wedding anniversary, and have some time away from our pups and our busy lives here.

Hope everyone is having a great Monday!

30 Things - Relationships With Parents

#3 - Describe Your Relationship With Your Parents.

Click here to link back to the original post.

I want to start out by saying that I'm close with both of my parents, as well as my mother in law. My parents are separated, since 2010.

Mommyos - while this nickname was developed shortly after I moved out and started college, and Siri pronounces it Mommis, it's something I made for my mom. She's the mom that comes out for a weekend, and helps you paint your kitchen, move your shit out of the bedroom (along with a king size bed) She's been a friend, a parent, an advice giver. She's also been through a lot.
She recently broke her wrist, tumbling down 14 stairs (which was silly), I went out and helped her out, we had a good time. That's what everything is with mom, a good time. We played scrabble, shelled and ate peas in bed, watched movies, did loser laps around town. Went to the lake, got her out on the floatie, just had fun and relaxed.

Poppyos - much like mom's nickname, only developed for my dad. We're close too! We text and talk a lot. He helps Wade and I with huckleberry picking, mushroom picking, firewood getting and splitting. He comes out here and lays laminate flooring for us, fixes drawers and door handles, insulates our pipes better, he's an all around handyman. He even makes soups and stuff for us!

All in all I have a good relationship with both of my parents.

I also have a really good relationship with my mother in law. She's great too, she helps us with so much, and we see her a little more often than my parents, but that doesn't change anything. She's here to help us with our dogs, like when we head to Idaho, she's taking our dogs for the entire time we're gone. She's incredible, we talk about once a week, via phone or email! She participated in our first Gutsy Walk with us too!

30 Things - 3 Fears

#2 - Describe 3 Fears You Have And Explain How They Became Fears.

Click here to link to the original post and see what's next!

1. Being Alone -
So many things have happened in the past, where I was left alone while in a long term (almost 6 years) relationship, to grieve the losses of loved ones, to stay at home alone for all but 3 days a month. A lot of things, it made me stronger as a person, but I still have that fear of being alone.

2. Losing My Friends -
When I left high school, I didn't leave it with many friends because my boyfriend at the time wanted me to spend all of my time with him, and got annoyed when I didn't. The friends I have now, I couldn't live without, they're amazing for support, and they're so much fun to hang out with. There are few, but I don't want to lose them.

3. Losing My Marbles -
As someone who has worked in the health care industry, it scares me to lose my mind. I've seen it happen before me in family members, where they no longer remember who you are. It's horrible, and I am terrified to get to that point in life.
